Anyone like me who lives waiting for the next travel destination, loves the process of planning equally to visiting a new place.
Last year around the month of June, to keep myself happy and going in the scorching heat, I started planning my next vacation. Starting from Singapore to Mauritius and to many more places around the world, we landed on the beautiful nation of Turkey.
For planning for this trip, I went through endless vlogs, blogs, and articles, had the entire itinerary planned and bookings done. We started our journey from the famous Istanbul, visiting magnificent Hagia Sophia, one of a kind Bosphorus Strait, unreal architecture depicting modern art Basilica Cistern. We also witnessed divine Dervish Ceremony and many more wonders.
Next stop on the trip was the small town famous for Roman Spas, Pamukkale, famous for various depictions in many movies and shows, this small town takes us back to roman history with thermal baths, city ruins and massive amphitheater to boast of.
It’s a wonder how a small country of tea lovers, with a city expanding in two different continents, is a tourist paradise, catering to history buffs, mountain lovers, beach bums, adrenaline junkies, shopping enthusiasts alike. Our next two stops being Bodrum and Ölüdeniz, both small towns to quench the need of beach relaxation. Ölüdeniz was a hidden discovery, a small party beach town stretch in few kilometers, provides for an amazing weekend getaway for people of all age groups. After returning, my husband and I even made plans with our friends to go back there just for a couple of days. It was followed by tourist friendly Antalya and a classic Cappadocia, with waterfalls over magnificent Mediterranean Sea and a once in a life-time experience of hot air balloon ride over UNESCO renowned world heritage site of Gerome National Park (Turkey boasts of 17 world heritage sites).
Intercity transport service and even local within the city transport service is one of the most comfortable, easily available, and efficiently organized of all, helping not only the locals but also tourists who try to navigate through an unknown nation.
I write this today, not as a travel blog but my attempt as a small tribute to the beautiful nation currently suffering under the unending wrath of nature. It has made me revisit all the moments spent there, makes my heart sad for the beautiful land. I hope and pray that nation recovers.
